Costume Jewellery

Costume jewellery has always been popular as a cheaper alternative to ‘real’ stones. Many pieces are extremely intricate and well made; especially the examples from the 1940s and 50s, and the older signed pieces can command a high price. However there is a wealth of fine pieces at affordable prices to be had, which are generally more unusual and more robust than many of the mass-produced pieces on the market today. Details of a very good reference book for all kinds of costume jewellery, by Judith Miller, can be found in our useful information section.
